This workshop is designed to provide managers and employees with a practical understanding of sexual harassment in terms of what it is, how it impacts them, employees and the organization; what their responsibilities and liabilities are; and, what they can do to prevent sexual harassment from happening in their organization.
Upon completion of this program, it is reasonable to expect that the participants will be better able to:
1. Understand and explain the legal definition and mandates of sexual harassment.
2. Describe and recognize the types of behavior and conduct considered to be sexual harassment and violating the laws.
3. Identify and explain the consequences of sexual harassment on the victim, the harasser and the organization.
4. Understand and explain the rights and responsibilities of all managers, supervisors and employees under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and subsequent legal precedents.
5. Identify and discuss practical approaches to resolving potential sexual harassment situations.
6. Identify and use effective interpersonal communication skills to assist an employee in talking about a sexual harassment issue effecting their performance.
7. Effectively confront an alleged harasser to get them to recognize that their behavior is causing a problem for them.
